Motion 117 Productions is a film production company based in South Minneapolis that creates films for non-profit and commercial clients, as well as music films, feature length narratives, and short-form documentaries.  

We are seeking a part-time candidate with experience, education, and/or drive towards crafting story through video editing, with opportunities to be a part of the whole of the filmmaking and story-crafting cycle.

Qualifications & Character:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere CC 2014/2015 essential, with experience in After Effects and other Adobe Creative Suite products preferred (Some training available)

  • Sets deadlines and follows through on project commitments

  • Is a proactive learner with a positive and creative attitude, willing to help with production and post-production in any way needed

  • Is personable, service-driven, and accommodating, with a passion for film and video production

  • Is able to build strong client relationships and endeavors to advance the creative work of her or himself and the company with every project

  • Mostly, this person has an optimistic spirit looking to cultivate beauty through film at all turns

  • Local candidates strongly preferred

Core Duties:

  • Load, organize, backup, footage and create edit-ready projects for editors

  • Conform, transcode, and ingest footage

  • Create rough-cuts of specified footage into organized and clean projects

  • Synchronize audio and footage when necessary

  • Track, manage, and organize digital footage storage system

  • Create and maintain archives of projects

  • Upload finals to online distribution outlets and cloud servers

Other Duties Dependent on Candidate:

  • Assist on filming dates as needed

  • Capture audio during filming as needed

  • Perform color correction as needed

  • Create or oversee the creation of interview transcripts

  • Develop schedules for content delivery


Other Necessary Abilities:

  • Must be meticulous, technical, and organized.

  • Ability to work independently or under close direction / collaboration

  • Ability to travel if necessary on an occasional basis

  • Must be able to carry heavy cases of equipment (50lbs plus)

  • Must have valid U.S. passport or ability to attain

  • Must have their own method of transportation
